Aberdeen, have you seen The Ruts, live in Paris video?

The performance of 'In a rut ' at that gig is one of my favourites as far as videos from gigs go. It's on youtube

Johnny Kidd (as in And The Pirates). Got his autograph at Hackney Speedway in 1966 and he died in a car crash, I think about a week later.

Just in time: Bob Marley, July '80. Died March '81.

Similar with Paul Kossoff. He came on stage & played the last 2 songs with John Martyn. Died a few months later.

When I was a dispatch rider a long time ago, if you went West along Piccadilly at about 11am you'd have seen the greatest artist of his day, Francis Bacon, walking up Piccadilly towards the Colony Club to get pissed up on Champagne, get lairy and barred.

I read somewhere that he used to get barred almost every day.

I remember the school taking us to the Tate when I was about 7 and staring at Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion and it scared the fuck out of me.

Oh, and recently Cornelia Parker going into a hairdressers in Kentish Town Rd.

I just watched the Scotland v England game from 1971 at Hampden Park. England won 1-0. Funny old football back then!

7 of the 11 England players are dead!

He was brilliant, wasn’t he. Still a massive fan. Saw him at the Town & Country Club in the 80s.
